a child’s experience of being disabled is heavily
influenced by the views and structures around him/her; §
all children should be enabled to take greater
control over their lives; §
children learn best in a positive, secure and relaxed
environment that allows each pupil to succeed; §
all children can learn with varying levels of
support; §
every person at Foyle View School should be treated

aims for 2006 - 2007 were: §
to
maximise pupil achievement through
Information and Communication Technology; §
to
enhance the learning experience for pupils with more complex needs; §
to
pursue effective partnerships for school improvement; §
to review and agree the school system of assessment, recording and

|
| Appropriate

These are set out in Appendix 1. All targets achieved are
highlighted in bold lettering.
In all areas the plan has moved ahead of schedule.
The Board of Governors noted the hard work and effort of all
staff, parents and pupils in their commitment to continuous school
improvement. The Principal
provided an overview to staff on progress in relation to strategic aims
for 2006 - 2007. Dr Dobbins
also initiated a process of strategic review to develop a strategic plan
for 2007 – 2010. This
involved workshops with staff and SETAQ questionnaires to all staff and
parents. |
