The development of the Junior and Senior playgrounds
at the rear of the school were completed in 2007.
b.
A whole school B-B-Q was held in June.
c.
The school formal took place in the Beech Hill Hotel
and was a great success that was enjoyed by both staff and
pupils.
d.
Scottish musicians from the University of Glasgow
put on a production for pupils.
e.
The school was awarded approximately £14000 to
develop extended schools provision.
An additional 15% in funding was made available through
the school joining a cluster with St Patrick’s Primary School,
Belmont Nursery School, Belmont House School, and Greenhaw
Primary School.

All scheduled internal adaptations have been
completed on schedule.
g.
Joint protocols for collaborative working between
the school and the Behaviour Support Service (Foyle Trust) were
agreed.
h.
Makaton fun sessions were held for parents.

The Mayor launched a poster campaign on children’s
rights on 21 December 2006 in the Guildhall. The Project was
organised by Derry Children’s Commission. The posters
displayed on Billboards at four sites: King Street; John Street;
Culmore Road; and Strand Road, involve children from Foyle View
and miniaturised images of Magistrate Corrinne Philpott, Joe
Lusby, Foyle Trust, Barney McIlhone, NI Childrens’ Commission
and others.

Due to on-going requests from Sheridan Solicitors
regarding statementing and provision of Speech and Language
Therapy, five reviews had to be conducted in the Autumn term.

Under extended schools, the Playtrail was opened to
families from Belmont House, Belmont Nursery, St Patrick’s ,
Greenhaw and Foyle View at
weekends and after schools until the end of June.

Professor McConkey, UU, and Ali Samedi, Iranian PhD
student, visited the school in April. Mr Samedi conducted
observations at Foyle View.
A further meeting was held in school with other
researchers from the UU and community group representatives to
discuss a research project on fathers parenting children with
disabilities.

A group of Belgian teachers visited the school.

Christina Creswell won Derry City Councils Christmas Card
