Work
Experience
Students
from the Senior Department in Foyle View benefit greatly from work
placements, both in school and out-house.
In-school
placements include assisting the School Building Supervisor, office
duties and working in the School Kitchen.
Out-house
work experience took place in January 2008 for the senior class, while
there are ongoing placements in school.
The
school linked with FOSEC this year, and placed students in
McDonalds, Foyle St Library, Housing Executive and Frank Longs among
others.
Prior
to these placements, the pupils took Preparation for
Employment classes. During one of
these classes students had the opportunity to visit Marks and
Spencers to find out about the various positions held in store.

This
September, students have already spent a successful week on work
placement, with good reports from each. More placements will
follow later in the year.
