Student
Placement
Work
Experience/Training Placements/Volunteering Opportunities at Foyle
View School
Foyle
View School is a learning and teaching school. We welcome
applications from individuals for work experience, training
placement and volunteer experiences.
Initially
you are asked to make contact with the school vice-principal
(pastoral responsibility). She will contact you and
determine the nature of your placement. She will then give
your details to the student co-ordination teacher.
Before
you commence placement at Foyle View School, you will be asked to bring
a Current Access NI vetting form with you.
We also
require a copy of your indemnity form - this states that you are
covered by insurance to work in the school.
At the
induction meeting, you will be taken on a tour of the school and
will receive a information brochure which explains the school's
vision, mission and learning and teaching aims. A brief outline
of your duties and responsibilities will also be discussed.
There will be opportunities for you to ask questions during this
meeting.
As we
value the work that you will be completing in Foyle View, we take
the time to carefully match your capabilities and strengths to the
needs of the pupils.
Throughout
your time in our school, you will be given the opportunity to work
alongside a very professional and enthusiastic staff.
Time For Me
Parents
of pupils attending Foyle View have produced a booklet entitled
'Time For Me'. The booklet was produced for other parents and
professionals who live and work with children who have additional
needs. To read more about this booklet follow this

Summer
Scheme 2008
The
Foyle View Summer Scheme took place during the first two weeks
of July and was a great success.
This
year the activities available included parachute games,
football coaching, badge making, t-shirt making, cookery, art,
face painting and there was also a bouncy castle
onsite.
Our
new Head boy and girl, and Deputy Head boy and girl, were
announced at the Senior Prizegiving in June.
Many
thanks to our outgoing heads, who carried out their duties
well throughout the year.
Assembly Assemblies
are held weekly, with one assembly a month dedicated to presenting
Pupil of the Month awards. Assembly is also held on
Special occasions. The
weekly assemblies also celebrate pupils achievements via the
'Praise Book'. The
Foyle View Choir sing at each assembly and have grown in strength
during the past year, led by teacher Ross Laird.
