As our pupils are collected and dropped off by bus, it can be very isolating for new parents.  With this in mind, Brighin Lyttle approached Dr Dobbins with an idea to help parents in forming a group to help with ideas for 'Play'.

She contacted Eilish Gill (Derry Children's Commission) who offered to come on board with her expertise.  It soon became apparent that 'play' was the last thing on these parent's minds.  Through various workshops with  Brendan McKeever, James King and co., and a wonderful pamper day from the Parents and friends, the parents decided they would like to make a book about their experiences and of practical ways in which they could help other parents.

Hence our book, 'Time For Me' was established.

Every Thursday afternoon at 1.30, the parents, Brighdin and Eilish met to discuss ideas, have a bit of craic and a well deserved cup of tea and scones.  Some really enjoyed the tasty treats provided by the Foyle View School Kitchen more than others!

Contact was made with Mark Willet, who arranged the format of the book and funding was provided by Derry Childrens Commission, Extended Schools, Children in Need and Foyle View School.

Supervision for the pupils and their siblings was provided, to ensure 'Time for Me' for each parent.

A big thank you to all parents involved - Ciaran, Bridie, Margart, Michelle, Grainne, Sinead, Pauline and Gary.
