School Events and Achievements

Listed below are many of the achievements and school events that made 2006-07 a very successful year.  Whilst not an exhaustive list, it should give parents an insight into the range of work undertaken within the school.
An animated DVD, produced by Share Music, involving pupils from Foyle View School was shown during the Foyle film Festival.
An exhibition of photographs, taken as part of a joint project between Foyle View and Oakgrove Integrated Primary School, and funded by HML, was displayed in HML offices, Springtown in November 2006.
Seventy eight pupils took part in a very successful, two week summer scheme, co ordinated by Martina McComish.
Pupils visited the Mansion House in Dublin, to receive an Award for Art
The school held its annual coffee morning for the Foyle Hospice on 14 September w006
A number of pre Halloween activities were organised throughout the school.  These included magic shows, a clown balloon show and a fancy dress disco.
A residential trip to Gartan took place in late October.  The Liberty Consortium part-funded the cost to pupils.
In the autumn, a successful book fair was held, involving parents, staff and pupils.  
The Christmas Carol Service was very well attended this year
Multi-Agency Transition Planning meetings were held in February
Annual Reviews were held in the Spring Term
A joint drama project, entitled 'A Bird's Life For Me' with the Playhouse and the Secondary Phase was showcased in December.
Pupils from the Upper Secondary Department participated in community safety workshops at shantallow community Centre.
The Millennium Forum used the Team Enterprise Christmas Cards as their official Christmas Card this year
The Lower Primary Department held an Easter Parade.  The Upper Primary Department had an Easter mini-co0ncert and egg rolling competition.
A special assembly took pace on the last day of term for our school leavers.
primary and Secondary Sports Days were held this year
Primary and Secondary Prize-givings were held this year
Pupils for Foyle view attended a Confirmation Mass at the Brandywell Stadium
The annual Rotary Kids Day Out took place in May
A Parental induction workshop was held for all new parents in June 06.
Foyle View and the Playhouse received funding to run a drama project next year.
A very successful launch of the Play trail was held.  Over 150 people attended an event that was only dampened by the weather.
Marion Matchett launched the booklet featuring Foyle View and Belmont as examples of best practice fort their work with the Play trail.  the Principal made a presentation on the schools work in this area to the conference.
In May, Gay McIntyre and friends performed for the children.
Six Classroom Assistants from St Patrick's spent a training day in Foyle View.
A Senior Careers Morning was held, putting parents and post-school providers in contact.
