Holistic Aromatherapy Massage

Massage is therapeutic, relaxing and soothing to the pupils.  It also increases the flow of blood and promotes health and well being.

Benefits include

  • Increased circulation - the increased blood flow caused by massage helps increase the nourishment muscle. While it doesn't exercise muscles, regular massages can help prevent the atrophy of unused muscles receive and carries the waste from the muscles into the lymphatic system.  

  • Increased flexibility - the kneading and pulling motion of massage can help increase flexibility in muscles.  The therapist can also use methods such as Muscle Energy Technique to increase flexibility

  • Strengthening of the immune system -  encouraging the flow of lymph helps pump toxins out of the body, enhancing the immune system

  • Reduced stress and anxiety - calming the nervous system is one of the effects of  massage.  This facilitates relaxation

  • Improved health of skin - it helps the skin become more supple and regulates oil production

  • Speeds healing - massage helps speed healing time after surgery and reduces the appearance of scar tissue

Infants who are massaged have more organised sleep and wake patterns.  They are also less fussy.

Children with autism who are massaged may display less stereotypical autistic behaviour.  They have more regular sleep patterns and are able to stay on task more easily.  Seniors who are massaged regularly can benefit by being more alert and aware of their surroundings.  They are also less likely to be depressed. 

 

Some seniors also attend Beauty Class with Noelle at the N.W.R.C, where they have the opportunity to practise various beauty tecniques, including hairdressing and manicure.
